Tuesday, June 1st: Morning seminar on Business Opportunities with the Czech Republic
Sligo Chamber and Sligo Euro Info Centre held an event to highlight the business opportunities that exist for Irish SME's following enlargement. The seminar was held in conjunction with the Hungarian Embassy Dublin, Czech Trade and Czech Invest. There was a great attendance from the business community in Sligo and the surrounding areas at this event. Speakers for the event included;
Ladislav Muller, Head of Economics, Czech Embassy. Rene Samek, Director, Ireland and UK operations - CzechInvest and Tomas Pisa, Director, Czech Trade Ireland who addressed the economic situation in the Czech Rep and opportunities following enlargement - for industries and investment, trade and outsourcing opportunities.

Michael Ward, Director of M.Ward Manufacturing and John O'Sullivan, Enterprise Management gave hands on experience and practical recommendations for any Irish company establishing itself and developing in the Czech Rep.

Friday, April 30th: Chamber of Commerce Annual Dinner Dance

Vodafone This year Sligo Chamber of Commerce & Industry held its Annual Dinner in the Sligo Park Hotel on the eve of the EU's biggest and most ambitious enlargement. Guest Speaker was Tommie Gorman, Northern Editor with RTE and former European Correspondent. Dr.Gyory Bobok Economic and Commercial Counsellor with the Hungarian Embassy and his wife Beatra were also in attendance and presented with a gift of behalf of the business community in Sligo to commemorate their countries entry into the European Union.

Tuesday, April 27th: Business Opportunites with Enlargement Seminar
On the 27th of April, Sligo Euro Info Centre, Sligo Chamber of Commerce and the European Movement in association with the Hungarian Embassy held a seminar on business opportunities with Hungary following Enlargement. Speakers for the event included, Mr. Joe McCartin MEP and Dr. Gyorgy Bobok, Economic and Commercial Counsellor with the Hungarian Embassy.
