The Atrium in the Model Arts and Niland Gallery was an ideal setting for Sligo Chamber’s Social Evening which took place on 20th September 2007. This social event, which was sponsored by Vivas Health, proved once again to be an excellent opportunity for members to meet other members and for Sligo Chamber to officially welcome their new members for 2007.
It also allowed members to appreciate the development plans that were outlined by Aoife Flynn, General Manager, Model Arts and Niland Gallery, that form part of a larger redevelopment of the area into an arts and cultural centre.
Sligo Chamber was delighted to welcome Oliver Tattan, CEO of Vivas Health as the Guest of Honour for the evening. Oliver briefly discussed the changing health needs of Ireland’s workforce and provided interesting insights into the healthcare system in Ireland and abroad, focusing particularly on the future and vision of private health care.
President of Sligo Chamber, Tony Wehrly, welcomed all members, particularly the 21 new members in 2007. Subsequently, Rebecca Stevens, CEO Sligo Chamber outlined the activities planned for the coming quarter including the imminent Annual Dinner, the Sligo Shopping Spree and the up-coming Sligo Chamber and Sligo EIC events. She mentioned the activities around the World Rally Championships in November and the unprecedented opportunity this presents to showcase Sligo to a national and international audience, adding that “businesses, probably do still not realise the full scale and potential that hosting a round of the World Rally Championships will hold for Sligo and the North West”. Sligo Chamber, in conjunction with North West Tourism are organising the parade and other festivities on Saturday 17th November.
